Baroud's Response to Franjieh: Insulting People Does Not Make You Strong

Former Minister Ziad Baroud commented on the statements made by former Minister Sleiman Franjieh, the head of the Marada Movement, as follows: "Despite the insulting personal remarks, I extend my sincere condolences to Marada Movement leader Sleiman Franjieh on the anniversary of his father, family, and fellow martyrs. National martyrdom in blood transcends all other temporary testimonials." He added, "Regarding what he specifically addressed to me, I would like to genuinely thank him for describing me as 'well-organized.' This reflects my upbringing, based on the principle that insulting people does not make you a strong person. Since everyone has their own style, both in internal matters and beyond across the nation, I will suffice to say that I am proud of what I was able to achieve in terms of conducting elections in a single day, canceling sectarian registration, administrative reforms, and a project for administrative decentralization, among other issues that were included in the Sikorsky helicopters, which did not cost the Lebanese state a single penny! Yes, they sold it as scrap after thirteen years, perhaps because the goal was not to extinguish fires but to borrow them, just like in politics as well, during presidential elections that continue to leave severe scars on the nation."
