The General Directorate of Civil Defense announced in a statement that "its members rescued a citizen around 2:30 p.m. today after he sustained an injury while engaging in his hobby of walking along the banks of the Edde River in Jbeil." It noted that "he had called for help, and its members quickly responded to the call and were able to rescue him from a difficult geographical area, equipped with specialized mountain rescue gear. He was also transported to Our Lady Maritime Hospital in Jbeil for necessary treatment."
