Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had a phone conversation with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, during which the latter affirmed his support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people until they attain their full legitimate rights. Sisi emphasized "the necessity of making every effort and contacting all international and regional parties to stop the ongoing escalation and ensure the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip," reiterating "his support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people until they achieve their full legitimate rights." Abbas noted "the importance of delivering humanitarian and medical assistance to the Palestinians in the Strip," reiterating that "the only solution to the ongoing escalation in the region is a political solution through ending the Israeli occupation of the land of the State of Palestine with its capital in Jerusalem."
