The leader of the Coordination Framework, Ali Al-Fatlawi, confirmed today, Friday, that the local Baghdad government will fall under the jurisdiction of the Coordination Framework. Al-Fatlawi stated that "the Shia Coordination Framework, after forming a coalition uniting all its forces into one bloc in the provincial councils, means that it has now acquired a majority of seats in the Baghdad Provincial Council." He also added that "the local Baghdad government will be the share of the Coordination Framework due to its majority of seats," emphasizing "the ongoing consultations on this matter with other partners." The Coordination Framework had announced the formation of a unified bloc for itself in the provinces to establish local councils following the preliminary results of the provincial council elections.
