French President Emmanuel Macron expressed on Thursday his "great happiness" at the release of a French-Israeli woman who had been held hostage in Gaza, stating that Paris will continue to work for the release of those still held by Hamas. The hostage, Mia Scheim, 21, was kidnapped during a dance party along with several other hostages before being taken to Gaza. Scheim also holds French citizenship. Macron stated in a message on social media platform X, "I share this overwhelming joy with her family and all the French people."
