Cathay Pacific Airways announced that a plane belonging to Korean Air collided with one of its aircraft at a Japanese airport. Local media reported that the incident resulted in no casualties. Cathay Pacific stated, "We confirm that an incident occurred involving a Cathay Pacific aircraft while it was parked at New Chitose Airport in Sapporo on January 16." They added, "A Korean Air Airbus A330, while moving on the runway, struck our aircraft that was stationary at the time, which had no passengers or crew on board." In snowy conditions, the wing of the Korean Air Airbus A330 hit the APU compartment, horizontal stabilizer, and rudder of the Cathay Pacific B777 during the ground collision at Hokkaido's Shin-Chitose Airport around 5:30 on January 16. No injuries have been reported so far.
