Israeli Army: Lebanese Army Personnel Were Not Targets of the Airstrike

Avichay Adraee, the spokesperson for the Israeli army, wrote in a post on his account on the "X" platform: "IDF soldiers acted yesterday to neutralize a real and imminent threat detected within Lebanese territory, where the threat was identified from within a reconnaissance and launching facility belonging to Hezbollah near the Nabi Ayoub-Adaysseh area on the Lebanese border." He added: "The IDF received reports of injuries to a number of Lebanese army soldiers during the airstrike. We confirm that Lebanese army personnel were not the targets of this airstrike." Adraee continued, "The IDF regrets this incident and is investigating its circumstances."

Additionally, the United Nations peacekeeping force (UNIFIL) stated in a statement yesterday that this is the first Lebanese army soldier killed during hostilities, adding that the Lebanese army is not engaged in conflict with Israel.
