Syrian artist Said Abdel Salam has passed away at the age of 83 after a battle with illness. He was born in the historic Al-Salihiya neighborhood of Damascus in 1941. He lost his father during the French bombardment in 1945 and was raised by his sister, Afaf Abdel Salam. He began his artistic career at the Damascus Radio in 1958 alongside the late artist Talhat Hamdi. He participated in many theatrical works such as "Between Hour and Hour," "Prohibited Stations," "The Father," "Jailed Dreams," "The Looting," "The Sweet Hour," "The Trap," and "The General Inspector." He appeared in several Syrian films, including "The Fourth at Paradise Time" (2015) and "Marriage in the Local Way" (1978), as well as many series like "Like the Four-Year War" (1980), "The Intermediary" (1985), and "White Clouds" (1988), with his last appearance being in the twelfth season of "Bab Al-Hara" (2022).
