The U.S. State Department indicated on Monday that Washington does not view the Israeli airstrikes in Rafah as the beginning of a comprehensive attack in the area where displaced residents of the Gaza Strip are taking shelter. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters that without a credible and actionable Israeli plan, Washington would not support the continuation of a large-scale military operation in Rafah. He added that he does not believe cutting U.S. aid to Israel would be a more impactful step than the actions Washington has already taken.
