Israel Uses Falcons to Locate Its Fallen

Israeli forces continue to search for the bodies of their soldiers killed in the attack on October 7, utilizing birds of prey equipped with tracking devices in their difficult mission. The Israeli army has seemingly sought the assistance of the Nature and Parks Authority to identify the locations of the bodies by analyzing the flight patterns of hawks and eagles in the surrounding areas.

In recent days, at least four bodies were discovered near the forests of Be'eri and Kissofim thanks to tracking devices placed on the falcons in that region, according to the newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth." The reason for employing these birds of prey stems from the gunfire directed at the search parties by Palestinian fighters. Additionally, the search has become challenging due to the condition of the bodies after more than a month since the surprise attack.

In one instance, a falcon was identified after it returned to the ground following a 24-day absence from Israeli territory. Upon further investigation, several bodies were found nearby. Initially, the Nature and Parks Authority believed the bird to be dead, but it was found to be near bodies related to the October 7 attack.
