Ukraine: Russia Prepares for New Attacks on Avdiivka

The spokesperson for the Ukrainian Tavriya military command, Oleksandr Shtupun, indicated on Thursday that "Russian forces are trying to reorganize and compensate for their losses near the city of Avdiivka in eastern Ukraine, before attempting to intensify pressure by launching new attacks in a bid to encircle the besieged city." Shtupun stated: "The enemy continues its efforts to encircle Avdiivka, but it is not at full strength at the moment, as it is trying to reorganize and compensate for the losses incurred in order to launch further attacks." According to local and military authorities in Ukraine, Russia has revived its efforts in mid-October to encircle the besieged city in an attempt to overwhelm Ukrainian army positions with a continuous barrage of artillery and waves of troops and combat vehicles.
