Study That Could Change Vegetarians' Opinions: An Animal Compound Fights a Serious Disease

A new study has indicated that a compound found naturally in animal products can infiltrate tumors and kill cancer cells. According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail," researchers from the University of Chicago examined hundreds of different nutrients that affected cancer cell growth, including TV acid (TVA). They found that cancer patients with higher levels of this acid in their blood responded better to treatment, suggesting it could have significant benefits as a dietary supplement. Scientists cautioned that while fatty acids are present in beef and milk, it is crucial not to saturate the diet with these products, as they can lead to dangerously high cholesterol levels and increased risk of heart disease. Fatty cuts of meat are likely to contain higher levels of TVA compared to lean meats, as well as whole milk and full-fat dairy products compared to low-fat and non-fat milk.
