Environmental Massacre in Wadi Qozhaya... Ministry of Agriculture Takes Action!

The Ministry of Agriculture announced in a statement that "after receiving several complaints about violations involving tree cutting in the area of Wadi Der Qozhaya, a team from the Bnachii Forest Center, under the supervision of the Head of the North Lebanon Agricultural Department, Sonia Al-Abiad, visited the mentioned site, where they examined the activities, suspended the logging license issued by the ministry for violating its conditions, and drew up a report against the offenders, referring them to the competent court." In this context, the Minister of Agriculture made a phone call to the environmental public prosecutor in the north and updated him on the developments related to this matter. During the call, Minister Al-Haj Hassan praised the judiciary's cooperation in expediting the rulings related to tree cutting and encroachments on Lebanon's forest resources.
