Iraq... Postponement of the Session to Elect the Speaker of the House of Representatives

The leadership of the Iraqi House of Representatives decided to postpone today's session, scheduled for Wednesday, designated for electing the Speaker of the House of Representatives, until further notice. The media office of the House stated in a statement, "Due to the unprepared conditions to hold the House session on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, because members of the House of Representatives are preoccupied with the provincial council elections and many blocs have excused their representatives from attending the session, the leadership of the House of Representatives decided to postpone the session until further notice."
