Egyptian Statement After Controversial

Egyptian security forces issued a statement commenting on a video showing a foreigner harassing two girls in South Sinai, claiming he is "an Israeli tourist and that he is in Israeli land." The Egyptian Ministry of Interior's statement said: "In light of the circulation of a video on social media showing an individual of foreign nationality verbally abusing two girls in South Sinai and claiming that he is of Israeli nationality, it was revealed that the person appearing in the video holds citizenship from another foreign country and is not of Israeli nationality."

The statement continued: "The two girls filed a report with the security authorities, and legal measures have been taken, with necessary actions being pursued." Social media activists in Egypt widely circulated a video reportedly from the Egyptian city of Dahab, featuring an Israeli tourist harassing Egyptian girls.

In the video, a tourist in Dahab is seen talking to an Egyptian girl who is filming him because he harassed her and her friends on the beach. He told her, "As for me, this is Israeli land," while the Egyptian girl described him as a sick person. The tourist continued speaking to the girl, using inappropriate words, while asserting that she knows nothing about politics.
