British Honorary Consul in Ecuador Kidnapped; Authorities Investigate

Colin Armstrong, the British honorary consul in the coastal city of Guayaquil, Ecuador, has been kidnapped, according to police reports on Saturday. The diplomat, who is also the owner of an agricultural company, was abducted in the early hours of the morning from his farm in the Baba area, as stated by AFP. The Sun newspaper reported that Ecuadorian police are investigating the kidnapping incident, during which Armstrong and his wife were taken to an unknown location using the honorary consul's private vehicle, which was later found.
