Mikati Met with Berri Away from the Spotlight, Insisting on a Government Session

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati visited Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri yesterday in Ain al-Tineh, away from the spotlight, to discuss preparations for an upcoming cabinet session. It was learned that the agenda for the session, which will be held within a week, will include around 10 urgent items, among them the education sector.

Sources from the government palace confirmed to "Al-Jumhuriya" that Mikati remains determined to call for a cabinet session dedicated to the issue of schools and the Lebanese University, as soon as he receives the report being prepared by the Ministry of Finance regarding ways to secure the necessary funds to cover entitlements and increases.

These sources revealed that Mikati's current concern is to quickly resolve the issue and return students to their classrooms. He will call for the session and put everyone before their responsibilities, holding accountable anyone who disrupts the meeting and hinders the academic year. They indicated that the situation in the education sector has become very pressing, and cooperation from everyone is required.

When asked whether Hezbollah will attend the session, sources from the government palace stated that Mikati has not received any position from them, "and we will wait for them to make their position clear." However, based on experience, the party always shows cooperation on sensitive issues that benefit the people.
