British Media Minister Lucy Fraser announced that she would intervene to scrutinize the acquisition of the Abu Dhabi-backed "Red Bird" fund of the "Telegraph Media Group," due to public interest concerns, as it could affect news accuracy or freedom of expression. The sale of the "Daily Telegraph" and the "Spectator," which lean towards the right and are favored by the ruling Conservative Party, is taking place after they were acquired by "Lloyds Banking Group" following a long-standing dispute with the previous owners, the Barclay family. However, the government has informed Red Bird in a letter that the minister is concerned about the potential impact on Telegraph operations. Fraser stated in a message: "I wrote to the Barclay family and the Red Bird fund today, the current and proposed owners of the Telegraph Media Group, to inform them that I will issue a public interest intervention notice."
