Pentagon Announces Resumption of Drone Missions Over Gaza

The Pentagon announced today, Thursday, that the United States has resumed drone flights over the Gaza Strip to assist in the search for hostages held by the Palestinian group Hamas. Pentagon spokesperson Lisa Lawrence stated in a statement that "in support of efforts to recover the hostages, the United States has resumed unarmed drone flights over Gaza, and we continue to provide advice and assistance to support our partner Israel as it works on the efforts to recover the hostages." The flights had been temporarily halted during the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which collapsed last week.
