The "Future Movement" strongly condemned in a statement the "continuation of the Israeli enemy's aggression against Lebanese sovereignty in the border areas, and the commission today of a new war crime manifested in the shelling of Shebaa and targeting civilians there, which led to the martyrdom of an elderly man and an elderly woman." The statement added: "What the Israeli enemy is committing on the southern borders, since the onset of its barbaric aggression against Gaza and its people, is a serious violation of Resolution 1701, necessitating urgent action from the United Nations and the international community to control the situation and curb this enemy, which persists in its crimes against the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples, without regard for international resolutions and the necessity to protect civilians and abide by international humanitarian law."
The statement called on the Lebanese state to "hasten to file a complaint with the United Nations against the Israeli enemy's violations of Lebanese sovereignty," emphasizing that "no matter what the Israeli does, it will not affect the will of our people in Shebaa, Kfarshouba, the Arqoub, and the villages of Yaroun, Al-Zahiriyeh, Marwahin, and the surrounding areas in the western sector, and it will not succeed, either it or anyone else, in intimidating them to displace them from their land; they are steadfast in it and continue their true resistance against this enemy in their own way, under the umbrella of the Lebanese state and its commitment to Resolution 1701, and they stand firm with all Lebanese in their solidarity and support for our people in Gaza and occupied Palestine."
The statement concluded: "Our condolences to the families of the martyrs Khalil As'ad Ali and Zabad Hussein Akoum, and to all the people of Shebaa, the Arqoub, and all the south, whom we honor for their steadfastness in their land, their defense of it, their commitment to justice, and their support for rightful causes, foremost among them our collective cause: the Palestinian issue."
