The Minister of Economy in the caretaker government, Amin Salam, wrote on his official account on "X": "After reviewing the news about the reduction of the insurance percentage on aviation risks, which has led to a decrease in the number of flights to only 20%, we have conducted a series of communications with experts on this subject both locally and abroad. Additionally, a call has been issued for an urgent meeting on Monday with the Association of Insurance Companies and all representatives of the insurance sector to discuss the matter and find suitable solutions to maintain Lebanon's connectivity with the outside world." He added, "However, in this reality, we always remind the Lebanese private sector, especially the insurance sector, that it cannot act as other companies would in such circumstances. Furthermore, the lack of review by the relevant oversight and supervisory authorities in the insurance sector when signing contracts for public facilities of this magnitude will lead us to the same problem during every crisis." Salam concluded by saying, "God protect Lebanon."
