The Public Relations Department of the Beirut Municipality reported that, following the directives of Beirut Governor Marwan Abboud and in order to ensure the safety of citizens and residents of the city, specialized technical teams are continuing their work on improving drains and rainwater drainage networks. This is a precaution against any damage that could result from heavy rainfall during the autumn and winter seasons this year. These activities are being conducted gradually across all areas and neighborhoods of the capital.
In parallel, the Beirut Municipality is also addressing repairs, paving roads, and trimming trees throughout the city's neighborhoods and streets before the onset of the rainy season. This is aimed at preventing any accumulation of rainwater in drains and other areas due to waste being thrown into the rainwater drainage systems, which could lead to flooding in the streets and pose a risk to citizen safety. These efforts will continue regularly to cover all streets and areas of the city of Beirut.
