Former President Michel Aoun confirmed from a youth camp that "everyone is required to live national values because if we do not love our country and help it grow, we cannot preserve it, as national education is fundamental to maintaining the nation. It is always required of you to nurture the national spirit." Aoun urged students to love their country, but alongside that love, there must be an understanding of politics. He stated that politics is the ability to understand how the country is governed and who governs it, and whether the ruler is doing the right thing, noting that we live in a society where lies abound and politicians deceive citizens. He recounted his experience of how everyone was ready to fight corruption, but as soon as he took the first step, the media began attacking him, as did politicians. He pointed out that today they are starting to hide the results of the investigations stemming from the forensic audit battle he launched to avoid their involvement in corruption being exposed. However, he stated that they will continue the battle today, even if they are no longer presidents, stressing the importance of students having the will to help their country and themselves. He reminded them that when there was a plan to raise gasoline prices by 100 lira, protests erupted, while those in power stole the savings of Lebanese citizens and no one protested.
