The Russian news agency reported on Saturday that "the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the summoning of the temporary charge d'affaires of the Czech Republic on Friday due to Prague's decision to freeze assets owned by the Russian state." The Kremlin indicated on Thursday that "the Czech step is illegal, and Moscow may respond to what it described as a hostile action." The Czech government announced on Wednesday the "freezing of assets owned by the Russian state on its territory, as part of an expansion of sanctions imposed on Moscow due to its war in Ukraine."
