British Shadow Foreign Secretary David Lami, after meeting with Speaker of the House Nabih Berri in Ain El Tineh, indicated that he "came with a simple message: he does not want to see the escalation and violence in Gaza extend and is looking for a political solution to what is happening and for the implementation of UN Resolution 1701 to calm things down instead of escalating."
