The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported, quoting an Israeli official, that there has been "progress in the talks" regarding a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas, facilitated by the U.S. and Qatar. The Israeli official stated that "the ongoing discussions aim for an extensive prisoner exchange deal with Hamas, mediated by the U.S. and Qatar." According to Israeli Channel 12, Israel will make difficult decisions to finalize the prisoner exchange deal, noting that the release of prisoners might occur in phases and during ceasefire days. The channel confirmed that Washington aligned with Israel's position by rejecting a ceasefire before a large number of prisoners are released, adding that negotiations are taking place between the U.S. intelligence director, the head of Mossad, and the Qatari side regarding the prisoners.
