The official newspaper of the Turkish presidency reported that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed today, Thursday, the ratification of Parliament regarding Sweden's request to join NATO, marking the final step in Ankara's approval of Stockholm's accession to the alliance. The Parliament had approved Sweden's request to join NATO on Tuesday, removing a major obstacle to the alliance's expansion after 20 months of delays. Hungary remains the only NATO member that has not yet ratified Sweden's request.
