The Philippine Civil Defense Office reported today, Sunday, that the death toll from the earthquake that struck the southern part of the country with a magnitude of 6.7 has risen to eight. The office indicated that two people were missing in a landslide following the earthquake that occurred on Friday off the coast of Mindanao, and their deaths have been confirmed. The fatalities occurred in the Sarangani province. Other victims died in South Cotabato and Davao Occidental, while 13 people were injured as a result of the earthquake, which caused panic among dozens and resulted in damage to more than 50 homes and other buildings.
