Four sources revealed today, Wednesday, that the United States and Iraq are set to begin talks regarding the end of the U.S.-led military coalition's mission in Iraq and how to replace it with bilateral relations. This step in the process had been stalled due to the war in the Gaza Strip. The sources indicated that the U.S. ambassador to Iraq delivered a message to the Iraqi foreign minister today regarding the process of ending the U.S.-led coalition and establishing bilateral relations. Reuters noted that "the process may take several months to years, and the withdrawal of U.S. forces is not imminent."
