Iraqi Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani met with French President Emmanuel Macron today, Wednesday, on the sidelines of the 54th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The Prime Minister's office stated, "The two sides reviewed opportunities for cooperation in economic fields, the development of Iraqi military capabilities, the implementation of arms contracts with the French company Thales, expanding partnerships in the oil sector, and enhancing various contracts with Total and other major French companies." The statement added that Sudani assured Macron of Iraq's commitment "to continue bilateral security and military cooperation between Iraq and friendly countries that supported it in its fight against terrorism."
