The Somali Minister of Youth and Sports has suspended the head of the country's athletics federation, and a lawsuit is expected to be filed after a female runner took more than 21 seconds to complete the 100 meters in the World University Games. This has been deemed a scandal, leading to a wave of public anger expressed by Somalis on social media. Nasra Abukar Ali lined up for the women's 100-meter race at the student games in China but finished in last place, more than 10 seconds behind the race winner, who clocked 11.58 seconds.
