Presidential spokesman Ahmed Fahmy stated that the two presidents discussed the overall security situation in the Middle East, the latest developments in the military escalation in Gaza, and the importance of preventing the widening of the conflict's scope to the regional environment. In this context, the president emphasized Egypt's position on the necessity of achieving an immediate humanitarian truce to enhance the intensive efforts undertaken by Egypt in collaboration with the United Nations and all active international parties, primarily the United States, to deliver humanitarian, medical, and relief aid to the people of Gaza. The two presidents agreed on the importance of intensifying efforts to increase assistance in a significant, effective, and sustainable manner, in quantities that meet the humanitarian needs of the people of the sector who are suffering immensely.
The call also addressed various aspects of the current situation in Gaza, where the president affirmed Egypt's firm stance against collective punishment and displacement, stressing that Egypt will not allow the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza into Egyptian territory.
