Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Thursday that "Ukraine has taken the initiative from Russia in the Black Sea and forced its naval fleet and warships to retreat, thanks to Kyiv's use of unmanned boats." He continued during a meeting with representatives from Black Sea countries: "For the first time in the world, a fleet of unmanned boats has begun operations in the Black Sea - the Ukrainian fleet." Zelensky noted, "We have managed to demonstrate that cooperation among Black Sea countries, with support from partners, can restore stability to the global food market." Moscow withdrew from a UN-mediated initiative to export grain via the Black Sea, which allowed safe passage for grain exports from Ukraine. After Moscow's withdrawal, Ukraine established an alternative export corridor in August, as it is one of the world's major grain exporters and producers.
