The Army Command - Directorate of Guidance issued the following statement: "On December 17, 2023, upon receiving information about a boat sinking off the coast of Tripoli while attempting to smuggle people illegally, a patrol from the Navy was able to rescue 51 individuals on board, including two Palestinians and 49 Syrians. The Army provided them with assistance in coordination with a team from the Lebanese Red Cross."
