The CEO of Israeli autonomous vehicle technology company Mobileye, Amnon Shashua, called on Sunday for the immediate ousting of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government. Shashua, a prominent businessman in Israel, accused Netanyahu's government of "making mistakes, dissonance, and incompetence" since the deadly attack by Hamas militants on southern Israel on October 7. In an opinion piece in the daily economic newspaper "Calcalist," Shashua wrote, "We must minimize our losses and do so quickly. The only solution to the current situation in Israel is to change the government, and it must happen immediately." He stated that the government, which seemed more concerned with its political survival than the "interests of the country," could be changed without calling for new elections, thereby reducing political upheaval by forming a new coalition within the current parliament. Netanyahu caused a stir today when he criticized intelligence chiefs, saying they never warned him that Hamas was planning an attack, but later retracted his statements and apologized. Netanyahu's office declined to comment on Shashua's article when contacted by Reuters.
