Lebanese Women Qualify for the Second Round of the West Asian Table Tennis Championship

The Lebanese team under 15 has qualified for the Asian finals after securing second place in the West Asian table tennis championship held in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq.

The qualification came after a victory over Jordan (3-0), with Yasmina Al-Habash winning (3-1), Bissan Shiri (3-1), and Sidra Al-Hassan (3-1). They also defeated Kuwait (3-0), with Yasmina Al-Habash winning (3-0), Bissan Shiri (3-0), and Sidra Al-Hassan (3-1). They lost in the final to Iraq (1-3), with Bissan Shiri winning (3-1). Additionally, the Lebanese women’s team under 19 secured third place.

The Lebanese delegation was accompanied by the president of the Lebanese Federation and vice president of the West Asian Federation, George Koubli, as well as federation members Wissam Shiri (team manager and head of the delegation) and Nagy Halal. The players representing Lebanon were Mariam Al-Habash, Fatima Dagdouqi, Sidra Al-Hassan, Yasmina Al-Habash, and Bissan Shiri.

On the sidelines of the championship, Koubli attended the General Assembly meeting of the West Asian Federation, where decisions were made, including Lebanon hosting the West Asian Club Championship and the Veterans Championship. Lebanon will also host the Arab Club Championship and the Arab Championship.
