The head of the Arab Unity Party, Wiam Wahhab, called for "not to monopolize the Druze stance, as this monopoly has ended, and we are all under the umbrella of the sheikhs." He criticized former minister Walid Jumblatt's position regarding the events in Suwayda and warned against "the extension of division to Lebanon." He said: "Sheikh Al-Hijri had some demands, and he is right in some of them and wrong in others, but this does not mean that if I have demands from the authority, I take the Druze into an uncalculated and uncertain adventure." He continued: "Walid Bey, with love, I say to you, Sheikh Hikmat Al-Hijri is one of the leaders of Suwayda and a respected and esteemed spiritual leader, but he is not the leader of Suwayda. In Suwayda, there are other great sheikhs and leaders, and we stand behind them when they unite on a single opinion. If you want consensus, we should meet at Sheikh Amin and discuss. As for unilateral positions, they are prohibited."
