While media attention focuses on the issues in Manchester United's dressing room, Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino does not believe it is a good time to face them. As Chelsea heads into tomorrow's match with a boost from their 3-2 victory at home against Brighton & Hove Albion, United lost 1-0 to Newcastle United last Saturday, with manager Erik ten Hag denying rumors of issues within his team.
Pochettino told reporters on Tuesday, "I think both teams are at the same level but in different situations. I don't think it's a good time to play the match; we are facing a very difficult opponent because they want to win and we want to maintain our momentum, build on our win against Brighton, and move up the table. It's important for us to be in a different position."
Pochettino declined to comment on the situation at United, preferring to focus on the future of his team. He stated, "I am not the person who talks about what happens in other clubs; I am happy here in this project, and I focus on my team. We need to perform better; it's a process I can explain, but I cannot compare it to another club. We are building something we believe will be amazing; it's about a period of time and achieving what we want."
However, the Argentine had words of support and fond memories of Ten Hag, the United and former Ajax Amsterdam coach.
