The National Authority of the Litani River announced that it has "submitted a complaint to the Public Prosecutor regarding legal violations and dangerous environmental breaches resulting from the camps for Syrians in the upper basin of the Litani River, specifically in the Al-Rawda and Al-Marj camps. These camps are associated with violations such as: dumping solid waste into the Litani River, discharging polluted water into the Litani River, and extracting water from the Litani River for irrigation of crops." It requested in a statement for "a swift investigation into the aforementioned violations, as well as the detention of those responsible for these dangerous environmental crimes that worsen the catastrophic situation of the Litani River, particularly in the upper basin."
