British Prime Minister Ignores Ukraine in New Year's Speech

On Saturday, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak addressed the cost of living crisis and decreasing inflation, with a focus on healthcare and investment in Britain. In his New Year's speech, Sunak highlighted the government's domestic policy achievements as well as its future plans; however, he did not mention the Ukrainian conflict, unlike his speech in 2022. The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to the military, doctors, and "scientists and innovators" for prioritizing the British economy. In his speech last year, Sunak promised to continue supporting his "Ukrainian friends" in their war against Russia, despite the economic challenges faced by the United Kingdom.
