The International Ice Hockey Federation announced that it has decided to prevent the Israeli team from participating in international tournaments due to safety concerns. The federation stated on Wednesday that it "decided to ban the Israeli national team from participating in its tournaments until the safety of participants, including Israeli participants, is ensured." Last year, the International Ice Hockey Federation used similar language regarding safety and security to justify its decision to suspend the participation of all clubs and national teams from Russia and Belarus in international events across all age categories following Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.
