Pakistani police announced that a shell from a rocket launcher exploded accidentally in a house in a remote village in southern Pakistan, resulting in the death of at least eight people, including women and children. Sindh province police chief, Raheel Khusho, stated that at least two other individuals were injured in the explosion that occurred in the southern region of the country. Investigators believe that family members brought the unexploded shell into the house after finding it in a nearby open agricultural area. Such explosions often occur when citizens attempt to disassemble unexploded ordnance to sell as scrap metal. The city of Kandkot in the Kashmore district of Sindh, where the explosion took place, is known as a hideout for thieves and criminals with access to good weaponry, including rockets.
