Solidarity Stand by Lebanese Artists Against the

A group of Lebanese artists held a protest today, Tuesday, in support of the people of Gaza, in response to a call from the artistic unions in Lebanon that condemned the international silence regarding the "Israeli crimes" and the "deadly siege on Gaza, depriving it of essential means of life." They also condemned the assaults on southern Lebanon that resulted in civilian casualties and targeted media outlets. The artistic unions urged the United Nations, in a statement, to take immediate action to stop these aggressions and compel Israel to apply international laws that ensure the protection of civilians, as well as to open humanitarian corridors. They submitted the statement of condemnation to the representative of the UN Secretary-General for ESCWA. Several stars attended the event in downtown Beirut, including: Walid Toufic, Moein Sherif, George Shalhoub, Jihad Al-Atrash, Takla Chemali, Si Frenini, Bernadette Hadeeb, Khetam Al-Laham, Nema Badawi, Sadiq Al-Sabah, Nizar Francis, among others. They attended wearing Palestinian keffiyehs and holding Lebanese and Palestinian flags.
