Maersk: Security Risks Remain Significantly High

The Danish company Maersk announced in a statement today, Friday, that all of the company’s ships scheduled to cross the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden will be rerouted south around the Cape of Good Hope for the foreseeable future. The company stated: "The situation is constantly evolving and remains very fragile, and all available information confirms that security risks are still at a very high level." It added: "Therefore, we have decided to reroute all Maersk ships that were to cross the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden south around the Cape of Good Hope in the near future."
