Eurostar, the railway company, announced today, Saturday, that "the flooding of a railway tunnel near London has caused the cancellation of more than ten train services connecting Britain with Europe." The company stated: "Eurostar services to and from London have been canceled, and there are severe delays due to infrastructure issues resulting from rising water levels in a tunnel under the River Thames, located between St Pancras International and Ebbsfleet." The cancellations, which currently include at least 14 trains between London and Paris, Amsterdam, or Brussels, mark the second setback for Eurostar customers during this holiday season. On December 21, an unannounced strike by French workers disrupted travel plans for thousands during the Christmas period. It remains unclear when rail services can resume.
