The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom's welcome today, Saturday, to the announcement of the meetings of the Joint Committee assigned by the Libyan House of Representatives and the High Council of State (6+6), regarding the consensus of its members on preparing the laws regulating the parliamentary and presidential elections in brotherly Libya. This announcement follows the conclusion of their meetings on the 17th and 18th of Dhul-Qa'dah 1444 AH, corresponding to June 6 and 7, 2023, in the city of Bouznika in the brotherly Kingdom of Morocco.
In a statement, the Kingdom commended the efforts of the brotherly Kingdom of Morocco in successfully facilitating this important dialogue and consensus, aimed at achieving a political settlement in brotherly Libya. It expressed hope for the official signing of the electoral laws by the Libyan parties as an important step toward ending the crisis and enhancing security and stability in the country. The Kingdom emphasized its desire for Libya to be an active and influential state in its Arab, regional, and international surroundings, and to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people toward development and prosperity.
