Two sources in the Greek shipping ministry revealed to "Reuters" on Tuesday that the Greek state-owned bulk carrier "MT Shoughrafia," carrying a crew of 24, was struck by a missile off the coast of Yemen, confirming earlier reports that the vessel was bombarded in the Red Sea while heading north. One of the sources indicated that the ship was empty of cargo and was sailing from Vietnam to Israel, adding that there were no injuries. The British maritime security company Ambrey stated in a memo on Tuesday that a Malta-flagged cargo vessel owned by Greece "was targeted by a missile while transiting north in the Red Sea, 76 nautical miles northwest of the coastal city of Al-Salif in Yemen." The British Maritime Trade Operations reported the incident as occurring 100 nautical miles northwest of Al-Salif.
