The security forces announced that, "As a result of the daily monitoring carried out by the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces to combat drug trafficking and promotion operations in various Lebanese regions, the branch intensified its field and intelligence efforts to determine the locations of those involved in these activities, including dealers and promoters, and work to detain them."
In a statement, it noted: "As a result of investigations and inquiries, the identity of one of the most dangerous drug dealers and promoters was identified, named M.K. (born in 1992, Lebanese), who is wanted under 12 legal cases for drug-related crimes and destruction. He is considered a dangerous individual and is continuously armed, and orders were given to monitor him in preparation for his arrest."
The statement added: "On November 1, 2022, after precise observation and surveillance, the special forces of the branch executed a swift operation in the Bashamoun area, resulting in his arrest. Upon searching him, a military pistol, three magazines, 53 live rounds, and narcotic pills were found in his possession. During the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him regarding drug trafficking and promotion in the areas of Khaldeh, Choueifat, and the suburbs, as well as to drug use. The legal procedures were taken against him, and he was transferred along with the confiscated items to the relevant authorities based on judicial directions."
