Rocket Attack on U.S. Base in Syria

A rocket attack targeted international coalition forces at the Green Village base in northeastern Syria on Thursday evening, as announced by the U.S. Central Command, "CENTCOM." A statement issued by "CENTCOM" revealed that the attack did not result in "any injuries or damage from the rocket fire." Colonel Joe Buccino, spokesperson for CENTCOM, stated that "the attack puts coalition forces and civilians at risk." He added that this attack "undermines the stability and security of Syria and the region," confirming that "U.S. forces have launched an investigation into the incident." The "Green Village" is a Kurdish base housing coalition forces that remain deployed in Syria to combat the last remnants of ISIS. This base had previously been targeted in July and January with rockets, resulting in injuries to four American soldiers in July, while the January attack did not cause any casualties and was attributed to Iran-aligned armed groups, according to a previous report by AFP.
