On Friday, the newspaper "Haaretz" reported that the security costs for Yair Netanyahu, son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during his stay in Miami, USA, amounted to one million shekels (approximately $275,000) of public funds. The paper explained that the Israeli government financed the accommodations for security personnel accompanying Yair Netanyahu, who is 32 years old, in Miami, Florida, at around one million shekels.
During his time in the United States, Netanyahu's son was accompanied by two guards from the Israeli security service, Shin Bet, with the security team being rotated every two to three weeks. The one million shequels covers expenses for the personal guards' lodging, meals, a car and driver, as well as the fee for a local security guard; however, it does not include the travel costs for the guards from Israel to Miami and back. The funds were transferred from the Prime Minister's office to the Foreign Ministry and the Israeli consulate in Miami, which bore a significant portion of the expenses.
